Reimagining 2019: Registration

Registration is now open for Sheffield Gothic’s fifth Reimagining the Gothic conference and creative showcase: ‘Reimagining the Gothic with a Vengeance, vol. 5: Returns, Revenge, Reckonings’! Taking place at the University of Sheffield on 10-12th May, and with a fantastic array of Gothic papers, creative projects, bookstalls and more, it will be one not to miss. We’re also delighted to welcome Dr Liz Oakley-Brown (Lancaster University) as our keynote speaker for this year, bringing some pre-modern to the Gothic. You can find details of the schedule here.

The registration fee for the full event will be £15. This includes a catered lunch and evening buffet on Saturday and light refreshments (such as tea and coffee) provided throughout the conference.

To Register:

Please follow this link to register and buy your ticket. We also ask that all attendees please fill out this pre-registration form (if you haven’t already) to ensure we can make everyone as welcome and comfortable as possible.

Travel Bursaries:

Thanks to the generous support of the International Gothic Association (IGA) we’re able to offer five travel bursaries of £20 to help those who are self funded or unwaged attend this year’s conference!
If you’d like to apply for a bursary, email with a brief statement regarding your circumstances and how it would be helpful by Monday 6th of May. This isn’t something we’re usually able to offer, so we’re extremely grateful to the IGA for this opportunity!

A Greener Gothic:

In an effort to minimise the waste we produce during the conference we’re requesting that attendees bring their own reusable mugs and water bottles. We have a kitchen in the HRI for washing up and will be providing tea, coffee and water all weekend.

We’re very grateful to the International Gothic Association and Think Ahead Sheffield for supporting this year’s conference, which means that we can keep registration costs to a minimum. The conference is truly open to all: if you’re interested in any areas of the Gothic, then we’d be glad to have you along!
