Reimagining the Gothic is an ongoing interdisciplinary and multi-media project that seeks to explore how the Gothic can be re-read, re-analysed, and re-imagined. It is hosted through Sheffield Gothic at the University of Sheffield but features work from individuals and institutions across the UK. Our mission is to create, cultivate, and promote new and exciting ways of experiencing and sharing Gothic studies. The project consists of two main threads: our annual conference and creative showcase (and 2019 sees our fifth event) and also projects and papers hosted on this site. We encourage both public interest and new academic avenues from students and scholars who wish to present on the Gothic using interdisciplinary and creative methods.
We invite you to explore the project on this site and take a look at the projects Gothic students, teachers, performers and artists have contributed. And, if you would like to contribute to this website or get involved with the project in any way, please contact us! Email us at sheffieldgothic@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Reimagining project enquiry’.
